The Department of Economic Development and Tourism is looking to develop and grow agri-processing businesses within the Western Cape.

If you are a small, medium or micro-sized enterprise (SMME) involved in the processing and transformation of raw and intermediate agricultural products, you may be eligible for the business support offered by the Agri-processing Supplier Development Programme.

The aim of the programme is to help individual businesses to identify business constraints and opportunities and develop action plans or turnaround strategies to overcome and capitalise on these. The Programme will provide tailor-made, non-financial business support to agri-processors through focused support interventions in order to help them to move up the value chains of the agri-processing industry and explore opportunities within this sector.

Programme benefits include the following:

– Financial and operational analysis

– Identification of business challenges and/or opportunities

– Development of an implementation strategy to address challenges and capitalise on opportunities

Western Cape enterprises trading for at least 18 months in the agri-processing sector and its associated value chains are welcome to apply. The application criteria are available on the Department of Economic Development and Tourism’s website. Please see contact details below.
